Rebekah Wilkinson graduated from the University of Guelph, ON in 1995 with her BA in Fine Arts. Rebekah was actively involved in the arts community in Oakville, ON. In 2005, she was elected as a Director and Communications Chair with the Oakville Arts Council.
Since her move to BC in 2007, Rebekah quickly became involved with exhibiting her work with some of the local Okanagan art groups. From 2009 until 2016, Rebekah participated annually in the Lake Country Artwalk, a local art fair boasting over 7000 visitors. She was the Exhibition Coordinator for Livessess, a figure-drawing group, from 2009-2010; was a resident artist at the Rotary Centre for the Arts, Kelowna in 2010 and was an event volunteer at the Kelowna Art Gallery in 2011. For 2 years, she worked as a sales associate for Apple Artworks Gallery and was later promoted to gallery manager.
In 2014, Rebekah organized 4 pop-up galleries in empty retail stores at the Westside Culture Days and in 2015, she was instated as the Vice Chair #1 for the Suk’ʷtəmsqilxʷ West Kelowna Arts Council (SWAC). Also in 2015, Rebekah re-designed Crust Pizzeria in Peachland to incorporate numerous chalk board drawings. That same year the Crust Pizzeria was sold to Murray’s Franchise Pizzeria and Rebekah re-drew all the chalk art to reflect the new branding. In 2015, Rebekah organized West Kelowna’s first community mural that was installed on the Johnson Bentley Aquatic Centre in 2016.
Currently, Rebekah is a resident artist at Ellis Art Studio in Kelowna, BC and recently participated in the Artisan Craft Fair sponsored by Etsy at the studio. Rebekah has showcased 3 solo exhibitions in Kelowna and Port Coquitlam and has had work displayed at Raymond James Financial office, Urban Bliss hair salon and Cranberry Junction, a retail store. Her art is being displayed at Robert’s Custom Framing in Kelowna. Also, she is currently the window and display designer for Fabricland, West Kelowna.
