“Don’t look back, don’t worry, be still.” – Canyon City
Why is it so hard to say “good-bye”? We get so accustomed to a way of life that is comfortable, known and loved. Nothing lasts forever and eventually it is time to say “good-bye” to something. With every exciting new beginning there has to be an ending.
It’s been a wonderful 11 years living in our West Kelowna house. This house represents a life of bringing up kids that I cherished. But kids do grow into adults, spread their wings and leave the nest. And we parents must adjust to this new phase and reality.
Sad and exciting at the same time.
I will miss sitting and writing on my deck that overlooks the mountains, but a new view a waits. I will miss my studio room that my daughter helped custom fit. But a new adventure with a new studio of more capabilities and space will allow me to grow as an artist with more freedom.
So I must say “good-bye” to a beloved world and say “hello” to a new adventure. And I welcome you on the journey.
